Testimonials - Belgian Team Members

A few years ago, Niels, Jeroen, and Matthias graduated from ICT-Electronics as civil engineers. Since then, they have been working at VASCO as Junior Technical Account Managers. We asked them to describe their first-year experiences at VASCO.

Why did you choose VASCO as an employer?

Niels, Jeroen and Matthias

Jeroen:When I graduated as an engineer, I didn’t want to start out in a purely R&D environment; I was looking for a balance of technology and contact with different people and cultures. In my current position, I have found this balance in VASCO and its international reach. Though VASCO has a strong global presence, the work culture itself remains informal; every employee has the opportunity to make a difference.

Niels & Matthias:VASCO offers new hires the required training to become Technical Account Managers—which appealed to us. Moreover, VASCO is a dynamic, growing company—not a large multinational where you are just one of the many new hires, but still big enough for room to grow.

How would you describe your first year with VASCO?

Jeroen & Niels:During the first few months, we were part of VASCO’s Support Team. We became acquainted with VASCO products, and established a rapport with clients. After a couple of months, we became involved in the testing of a new product. We eventually specialized in this product and even trained customers abroad to “master” it. Just recently, we were assigned our very first projects as Technical Account Managers.

Matthias:Shortly after I started, VASCO decided to implement an ERP system, and I became involved in that program. So, I assumed some new job responsibilities. During the first six months of the ERP startup project, I acted as the liaison between VASCO and the ERP company. The experience introduced me to many concepts: the functioning of the company, working in a group, and participating in meetings, among others. Since then, I have also started with the normal Technical Account Manager program, and I am now studying the VASCO line of products.

Would you recommend VASCO as an employer?

All 3:VASCO is a thriving international company and a market leader in strong authentication. Even so, VASCO employees are afforded a lot of freedom, and everyone here feels they are a valued asset to the company.

VASCO fosters open communication and a good working environment. People are willing to listen to your ideas. You are given the chance to develop both technical and interpersonal skills. It is also interesting to exchange ideas with colleagues from abroad.

Plus, thanks to the company’s strong growth, new opportunities present themselves every day, so we never have a dull workweek. On Monday, you never know what will happen in the course of that week. Come Wednesday, you could be at an exhibition in London or training a customer in South Africa!
