Summary
VASCO Data Security is looking for a creative and hands-on ‘Advanced Development Engineer’ to join its Advanced Development department in Wemmel.
The mission of the ‘Advanced Development Engineer’ is to create and make proof of concepts for our future VASCO solutions, whereby a solution can be a combination of Hardware, Software and application, using computer related electronics.
Responsibilities
Technology follow-up:
Investigate new technologies that can become a part of future VASCO solutions.
Search for new solution ideas:
Take part in the idea scouting process (in team) whereby we search for new concepts and new solutions, we check the market value of these ideas and estimate the feasibility.
Do feasibility study:
Based upon research (e.g. internet) and on some experiments, we make a paper study explaining how this idea could be realized and studying how feasible it is to make a successful prototype from this idea.
Make a real functional prototype:
Based upon the feasibility study (paper), you will help in making a real implementation that proofs that this idea is correct and that the solution is feasible. Your task will mainly concentrate on realizing the electronic and firmware part of these prototypes.
Make a "show-case" solution:
This is converting the working prototypes into show-cases that can be demonstrated internally (to product management) and/or externally (e.g. to potential customers).
Profile
You have a Master / Bachelor degree in Electronical Engineering (or similar) with minimum 2-3 years experience in computer related electronics, Embedded Software and/or PC Software.
You area fast learner with a hands-on mentality and a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
You are creative and innovative, willing to try new things.
You have good communication and problem solving skills.
Knowledge of low level programming (Assembler, C, drivers,…).
You are skilled in a wide range of computer related electronics.
You have knowledge of internet protocols and applications, server development, high level programming (Java, C++, C# …) and notions of Cryptography and Security applications.
You have a broad technological knowledge and interest.
You are fluent in English. Knowledge of Dutch is an asset.
